Dominion Christian at Mount Vernon
by Aaron Nix

This game was, as the other closely following games, very important. After a heartbreaking loss a couple weeks ago, the Mustangs had beaten Dominion at home in the last 3:00 minutes after the Knights had been leading the entire game. While the Knights were on the road they would have to face much adversity. One of these was refereeing. The Knights went into the locker room at halftime leading down 1. With the new 4-guard lineup, the Knights were all set to fastbreak the entire night. However, the Knights were faced many complications. Senior Center Josh Williams was playing on a partially injured ankle, Junior Zach Meyer got into foul trouble early in the first half, and the Center for Mount Vernon- a 6'5, +190 lb. rebounding machine- took advantage of the smaller Knights guards. Nevertheless, the game was close the entire game, regardless of a 9-21 scoring deficit in the third quarter. Junior Gerald Williams, the Knights leading scorer kept the score honorable with a nice 16-point game. With a myriad of questionable calls from the referees, the Knights had to take a 54-61 loss, which put them 12-8 in the season, and 2-4 in the conference, making their next game against Riverside more urgently necessary
