Riverside at Dominion
by Aaron Nix

This past Tuesday, the Knights played their last game of the season against Riverside. In the prior head-to-head, the contest ended in a tie. This game proved to be a harder game to score in. With defense extrordinaire Kevin Meara sidelined with a ruptured spleen, the Knights were lacking the strong defensive presence and the leadership to which they were once accustomed. However, the Knights went down with a fight. Riverside had 13 shots on goal, but only scored four times. Though the game ended in a 4-0 shutout, the Knights hope to use this loss to fuel their competitive spirits for their State matchup this coming weekend. In the meantime, we should keep the Knights in our prayers for a safe and competitive game at States; we should also pray for Kevin, for a safe and quick recovery. The Knights play Mount De Sales in the first round of States, the team who knocked the 06' Knights out of contention last year. The Knights also hope to use this as motivation to pull off the upset and make this year and this team something worth remembering.
