Lady Knights pick up first season win
by Aaron Nix

Before the season started, the Lady Knights looked at the upcoming season with uneasiness. This apprehension was not lightened by a first-game loss to Killian Hills at home- the first loss on that field since the season before last in '07. Yet and still, Dominion's girls soccer team took the field with confidence. With a strong defense in Junior Captains Lamas and Summerlin, the Lady Knights forced a good game out of their Shiloh Hills opponents. The game was scoreless the entire 1st period and most of the 2nd period. Some player on whichever team would have to turn up the heat if a team was going home that night winners. That player turned out to be Sophomore striker, Damilola Laguda. With a late game goal, Laguda pushed the Knights up 1-0 and left the game in the hands of a superb defense. Time slowly timed out and the Lady Knights walked off of home field as what they play hard to be- winners. The Lady Knights soccer team is 1-1 in the season thus far and look to extend and fill out a win streak when they play Furtah Prep at home on this upcoming monday, March 17.
