Girls Take Victory over Macon's Tattnall
Square
by Stephen Van Gorp
The Lady Knights soccer had a huge victory
over Tattnall Square on Tuesday. The Macon team came out with a strong
first attack by scoring its first goal within the first two minutes
of the game. However, the girls didn’t lose heart but kept on
pushing through to score the next four goals before Tattnall scored
their second one to finish the score at 4-2. Alex Russ-Stefancic scored
three of the four goals with assists by Kelsey Howard and Haylee Summerlin.
Also Kelsey scored on goal that was assisted by Erin Summerlin. This
game marked the team’s first season game of starting out behind
but having to work their way back to the top. It not only built them
up to realize the type of competition that they are going to have
to prepare for in later games, but also has given them encouragement
for the rest of the season and high hopes for the state tournament.
