Schedule & Results Roster Statistics Standings Coaches 3/22/07 Dominion Guys Land a Huge Win by Stephen Van Gorp On Thursday the guys Knights tennis team made a huge victory at Riverside Military Academy. All playing lines went on at once and the matches started very quickly. Matthew Jackson and Stephen Van Gorp were the first to finish with a 10-1 victory at number one doubles. Soon after were all singles lines with Austin Gentry finishing with a victory, but both one and two singles suffered losses. All the weight of the match was thrown on the shoulders of Matt Keyt and Alex Pedigo at two doubles. The already were down 6-2 when they realized that they were the last match in progress. They quickly rallied back to make the score 8-8, and then finished it off with a 10-8 win. Both players were pumped at their huge comeback and were shocked to realize that the entire match was based on them. Matt shared his sentiments after the match, “I’m really glad that we didn’t know that the match depended on us. Things definitely might’ve turned out different if we had known that there was that much pressure on us.” This victory was huge for the knights and allowed them to seal a 4-0 team record for the season which will help lead them well into their match against NCCS for the region championship.
