Flight Invitaional – Dominion Christian High School

         This past saturday, September 15, was the Dominion Flight Invitational. After a win at the Viking Invitational and a strong finish at the Eye Opener Invitational in Spartanburg, SC, the Dominion Cross Country team was ready for a good race. There was more of a desire to win because the meet was held at Dominion. Twenty Six schools traveled to Dominion for the Flight. The day opened with the Boys' and Girls' Open Varsity Race. The Dominion boys had six runners inthe top ten finishers, including Mololuwa Odesanya, who won the race with a time of 21:10. Emma Livergood of Dominion also had a strong race, finishing second in the girls' race.

After the junior vartsity race the main event of the day began; the varisty flights. The first guys' flight was won by Jordan Downey of Crown, and the first girls' flight was won by Marie Diodati of Holy Spirit. David McMichael and Josh Peek of Dominion finished third and fourth respectively in the boys' flight. Sherri-Anne Forde and Sonya Leckman of Dominion finsihed fourth and sixth respectively in the first girls' flight. The second boys' flight was won by Jackson Henry of Crown, and the second girls' flight was won by Paisley Burklow of Dominion. Joseph Moore and Sam Kuehl of Dominion finished second and sixth in the second boys' flight.

The third boy's flight was won by Zak Metz of Dominion followed with a second place finish by Dominion runner Clinton Millwood. The third girls' flight was won by Anna Woods of Crown. The fourth and final boys' flight was won by Will Pattiz of Heritage.

Nathan Bennett and Chris Svideskiss of Dominion finished second and fourth respectively. The final girls' flight was won by Elizabeth Ginn of Heritage. The Dominion Guys won the Flight Invitational for the first time and the Heritage won for the girls. the Dominion girls placed in fourth.

The Flight Invitational was a very exciting and successful race for Dominion Cross Country.
